RESORT RULES

PLEASE READ THE RESORT RULES BELOW BEFORE BOOKING

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, please follow the rules outlined below:

  • All children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • There is no life guard on duty, swim at your own risk.
  • For the enjoyment of all, please clean up after using the area for other guests.
  • Life jackets must be worn when using any pleasure crafts or boats.
  • Check the fire meter daily for any restrictions as per the Fire department.
  • No smoking on the dock.

CANCELLATION POLICY

PLEASE READ THE CANCELLATION POLICY BELOW BEFORE BOOKING

If the Guest wishes to cancel their reservation, the deposit will be refunded back to the primary guest within 7 calendar days as follows:

  • Cancellations made within 30 days prior to check-in date: Full refund, minus a $25 administration fee.
  • Cancellations made within 29 days and up to 8 days prior to check-in date: 30% refund, minus a $25 administration fee.
  • No shows or cancellations made within 7 days prior to check-in date: No refund.

RESERVATION POLICY

Check-In & Check-Out Times
If the premises appears dirty or damaged upon check-in, guests shall inform the Twin Lakes Resort Property Manager immediately.

Check-In After: 4:00 pm
Check-Out By: 10:00 am

Minimum Number of Nights & Booking Times
Please contact us if you are looking to book for less than the minimum number of nights for any accomodation below:

  • HOUSE: Bookable all year round. Minimum 2 night stay.
  • COTTAGE 41 and 43: Bookable all year round. Minimum 2 night stay.
  • CABINS 1-11: Bookable from May 1 – October 31. Minimum 2 night stay. Check-in is Friday for a weekend booking.

Booking Deposit
100% of the deposit is due at the time of booking.

If a booking has been made over the phone 30 days or more before check-in, the deposits are still required to be made at the time of booking. Guests will be contacted 6 weeks prior to check-in and the outstanding amount will be charged 30 days before check-in.

Guests will be contacted by email to inform when an outstanding payment will be charged.

Security Deposit
A security deposit in the amount of $ 250.00 will be required to be paid 14 days prior to check-in and shall be refunded within 7 calendar days of the check-out date provided no deductions are made due to:

  • Damage to the property or furnishings
  • Dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning
  • Any other cost incurred by Twin Lakes Resort due to Guest’s stay
  • Smoking within the unit

Payments
We accept most major credit and debit cards. We also support the use of Apply Pay and Google Pay wallets.

Cabin Rules:

  • No Smoking Indoors (OK outside, disposing in a container)
  • Maximum Capacity cannot be exceeded, no visitors allowed
  • Renters are responsible for all damages that occur during renting period
  • Day visitors are free and welcome to stay up until 10:00 PM
  • Only use appliances for their intended uses
  • Keep the property and all furnishings in good order
  • Guests should not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors; Code enforced neighborhood quiet hours are from 11:00p.m. – 8:00a.m.

Maximum Occupancy

  • Cabins 3,4,6,7,9,10 have a maximum guest count of 2.
  • Cabins 5 and 11 can accommodate 2 guest with a maximum of 4 guests.
  • Cabins 2 and 8 can accommodate 4 guest with a maximum of 6 guests.

Term of the Lease
The lease begins at 4:00p.m. on the “Check-in Date” and ends at 10:00 a.m. on the “Checkout Date”.

Minimum Stay
This property has a 2-night minimum stay for all months.

Access
The Guest shall allow Owner/Property Manager service access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Owner/Property Manager shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.

Rental Rate and Fees
All monetary values in this Agreement are in Canadian Dollar

Insurance
We encourage all renters to purchase traveler’s insurance.

Non-Renters/Visitors
Guest shall notify the Owner/Property Manager that they will be receiving visitors. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person on the property is the sole responsibility of the Guest and the Guest will assume all liability for their visitors. Guests are not allowed to exceed the occupancy limit agreed to above.

Noise
Guests should not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors; Code enforced neighborhood quiet hours are from 11:00p.m. – 8:00a.m.

Liabilities
All of the units are owned by Twin Lakes Resort; the owners and property management are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Owner or Property Manager are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

Parking
Parking is limited to 1 vehicle per Cabin. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. For additional vehicles, please let us know in advance.

Housekeeping
There is no daily housekeeping service.

Garbage
Any garbage must be stowed in the proper garbage or recycling receptacle, located at the front of the cabin and daily garbage pick up will be provided.

Consumption of Alcohol
There will be no consumption of alcohol in the areas permitted for shared use.

Fire Pits
Fires will only be permitted at the designated fire pit locations. “No persons shall start a fire outdoors for the purpose of burning piled wood, brush, leaves or discarded wood product unless:
a) A responsible person is available to tend the fire until it is extinguished;
b) the material is burned in a single pile
c) The fire is at least two (2) meters from any flammable materials”

Fire Ban
“A total Fire ban Against outdoor burning may be declared when atmospheric conditions or local circumstances warrant it. Such ban will be posted at Haliburton Highlands Camber of Commerce Office, located on Highway 35, in Minden and area business”. – fire Restrictions, Minden Hills Fire Department. A Fire meter will be located in a well visible area on the property.

Water and Septic
The cabin is on a septic systems and a purified lake water system. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages. Weather: If weather is uncooperative, no refunds will be given. Flooding and amines amount of rain will be determined upon each case.
